Three analysis techniques read alongside the plant experiment: SEM/EDS, FTIR and XRF. Each provides a different kind of information and has its own limits.
SEM / EDS
Electron microscopy imaging with elemental analysis at specific points of the sample.
Used in the report to show the surface morphology of samples and analyse elements at selected points.

Spectra related to functional groups and bonds in the material.
Read to distinguish functional groups in the samples after thermal treatment.

Measurements of sample elements using their original labels and units.
The elemental values in the source are still under review to confirm sample identity, stage and unit, so they are not presented here as published data.
